M-am îndrăgostit de Italia de mică. Pe lângă originile îndepărtate pe care le am din stră, stră, stă (sunt vreo 5 de străbunic), îmi amintesc mereu cum așteptam să revină bunicul meu din călătorii ca să văd ce bunătățuri îmi mai aduce – păpuși, bomboane, paste colorate și sucuri de piersică la cutie cu pai. Doamne!
EN: I fell in love with Italy since I was a little one. I feel proud that I have Italian origins from my grand grand (5 times grandfather 🙂 ). I remember that I was waiting for my grandpa to come from his Italian business trips to bring me dolls, candies, colorful pasta and some tasty peach juice. Oh my God!
Aproape în fiecare an vizităm un loc nou din Italia, această țară binecuvântată de care nu te saturi. Are atâtea de oferit, de gustat încât nu ai cum să nu o găsești surprinzătoare de fiecare dată.
EN: Almost every year we visit a new place in Italy, this blessed country. It has so many things to offer, to taste, to experience. It’s simply amazing!

EN: This time, we decided to choose the Amalfi Coast as our destination!
Ca în aproape orice călătorie, înainte de a porni la drum, îmi place să mă uit la câteva filme care conțin peisaje din locurile pe care urmează să le vizităm. Așa a fost și acum – The Talented Mr Ripley cu Jude Law, Matt Damon și Gwyneth Paltrow – stăduțe din Positano și It All Started in Naples cu Sophia Loren si Clark Gable – beautiful Capri!
EN: Almost every time, before travelling, I enjoy watching movies that were shot in the cities we are about to visit. Cum am ajuns pe Coasta Amalfi?
EN: How did we get to Amalfi Coast?
Cea mai bună legătură este cea din Napoli, așa că am zburat până acolo 2 ore și apoi am luat autobuzul până în Meta pentru aproximativ o oră – un orășel micuț de pe langă Sorrento. Totul este extrem de logic și ușor, sunt shuttle-uri din 30 în 30 minute spre orășelele de pe coastă. Majoritatea oamenilor se cazează în Sorrento, într-adevăr cel mai mare oraș de pe coastă însă am preferat să gustăm mai mult din ce este local și de aceea am ales Meta.
EN: The best connection from Bucharest is to Naples, so the flight was about two hours and then we took a bus to Meta for an hour . Meta is a little city near Sorrento. The transportation is very easy to understand, there are shuttle buses every 30 minutes to the coastal cities. The majority of the tourists usually get accommodation in Sorrento, which is the biggest city on the coast, but we preferred to taste more from the local flavors, that’s why we chose Meta
În prima zi…
EN: The first day…
Ne-am cazat în Meta prin Airbnb la Augusta, gazda noastră care are o căsuță foarte faină aproape de plajă. Drumul până acolo este scurt, printre străduțe, timp în care privirea își devine colorată de la atâtea căsuțe si scootere vesele.
EN: We checked in via Airbnb to August, our dear host who has a great house next to the beach. It’s very easy to get to her house, you get yourself lost throughout the little streets, while admiring the colorful buildings and scooters 🙂
Casa este istorică, din 1744, are multe spații (living generos, dormitor, terasă, o altă cameră de zi) și este pentru prima oară când avem si mic dejun inclus servit în altă parte decât casa aleasă. Celebrul collazione este pregătit pentru oaspeții Augustei în fiecare zi de către domnul Antonio Russo la Caffe Caracciolo – great coffee, croissante de tot felul și un view către micul oraș Meta. Signore Antonio are un citat fain pe unul din pereții cafenelei – Fericirea nu înseamnă să îți dorești ce nu ai, ci să îți dorești ce ai, Oscar Wild!
EN: The house is very old, since 1744.
It has a lot of rooms – living room, bedroom, terrace and, for the first time ever since booking on Airbnb, the breakfast was served in another place, rather than the host’s house. The famous “collazione” is happily prepared for Augusta’s guests everyday by Signore Antonio Russo at Caffe Caracciolo – great coffee, croissants and a nice view to Meta. Signore Antonio has also a poster in the cafeteria which says: “Happiness is not having what you want. It’s wanting what you have”, Oscar Wild!
Plaja din Meta are nisip tare fin, negru de la rocile vulcanice și un decor fain de roșu – portocaliu în ceea ce privește șezlongurile. Am citit, am stat la povești până la apus – great view! Dar, până la plajă te întâlnești cu foarte multe pisici. La fel ca în Napoli, zona e plină de pisici – kind of cats paradise!
EN: The sand from the local beach is very soft, having a black colour to it, due to the volcanic rocks. All is contrasted by the great red – orange palette deck – chairs decoration . We spent the time reading, talking until the sun set – what a great view! But, before reaching the beach, there are a lot of cats on the road. It’s the same like in Naples –a kind of paradise for cats!
Nu sunt foarte multe locuri de luat masa în Meta, noi am ales să cinăm la Tico Tico pentru că ne-a plăcut view-ul – măsuțe la balcon cu vedere spre mare – what else? O nebunie de meniu – bruschete, spaghete cu creveți, pește spadă, creveți și calamari (Misto Arrosto) …..și the most beloved wine – Greco di Tufo!
EN: There aren’t many places to eat in Meta, so we chose to dine at Tico Tico restaurant because of the beautiful seview – what else? We did not know what to choose, everything on the menu looked great… bruschetta with cherry tomatoes , spaghetti with prawns, mixed roast (swordfish, squid and prawns) and the most beloved wine – Greco di Tufo!
A doua zi…
EN: The second day…
După deliciosul collazione, am pornit pe jos spre Sorrento (distanța e mică – aprox 15-20 min de mers pe jos) unde am închiriat un scooter 🙂 – 30 euro /zi . Am străbătut orașul Sorrento care nu e mic deloc și ne-am oprit la Marina Grande, o plajă faină și colorată. Acolo e un restaurant fain unde am mâncat un super rissoto cu creveți și spumă de roșii – Soul and Fish Restaurant.
EN: After enjoying our delicious collazione, we took a walk to Sorrento (the distance is small – 15 – 20 minutes by walk) and then we rented a scooter – 30 euros / day. We drove for about an hour around Sorrento and we stopped at Marina Grande, a very nice and colorful beach. It was already noon and we decided to have lunch at Soul and Fish Restaurant , a cool restaurant near the beach. Best risotto with prawns and tomatoes foam – Oh my God!
Nu puteam sta locului, am pornit la drum cu scooter-ul spre Bagni della Regina Giovanna, un paradis natural, un golf cu nuante de verde în care ne-am bălăcit toată după amiaza. E un super loc de sărit de pe stânci 🙂
EN: We were really excited to explore the coast and we drove to Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a natural paradise, an amazing bay surrounded by green watery shades. We spent the whole afternoon there, swimming. It’s the perfect place for cliff diving:)
La întoarcere, ne-a atras atenția barul Belair care are un view amazing către mare, deasupra coastei sorrentine. Prăjitura torta caprese cu ciocolată și migdale a fost delicioasă!
EN: When returning, the Belair rooftop bar made us get off the scooter. It had such an amazing view over the Sorrento coast. The best caprese cake with chocolate and almonds was heavenly!
A treia zi…
EN: The third day…
Am pornit spre Positano cu autobuzul. Pentru cei cu rău de serpentine recomand barca, drumul cu autobuzul pe coastă a fost destul de neplăcut. But anyway, tot răul de moment s-a dus când am ajuns în Positano.
EN: The journey continues… to Positano via bus. I don’t really recommend the bus trips over the coast for the ones who suffer from carsickness. Anyway, all the sickness went away when we reached the lovely and colorful Positano town!
Aici ar fi avut loc cunoscuta scenă din „Odiseea“ de Homer, în care Odiseu (Ulise) rezistă ademenitoarelor, dar periculoaselor, chemări ale sirenelor, corabia lui scăpând nevătămată, el putând apoi să-și urmeze cursul maritim spre casă.
EN: It is being told that the famous scene from “Odiseea” of Homer, in which Ulise held against the mermaids took place here.
Căsuțele mici și colorate în pasteluri, toate în cascadă alcătuiesc un tablou de vis. Am luat prânzul la Ristorante Bruno, care are vedere direct către tabloul descris mai sus. Am întrebat de wifi, iar chelnerul simpatic mi-a spus “No mam, we don’t have wi fi, we just have a beautiful view” – what else? 🙂
EN: The little colorful houses look like they come straight from a painting! We had lunch at Ristorante Bruno, which had a mountain view over the beautiful buildings. I asked about wifi, but the waiter answered : “No ma’am, we don’t have wifi, we just have a beautiful view” – what else? 🙂
Structura caselor este cu totul specifică – un cub cu acoperiș, logie având arcadele îndreptate spre mare.
EN: The architecture of the houses is remarkable – they look like a cube with a rooftop with arches pointing at the sea
Am rămas la plajă și apoi am pornit spre Praiano cu autobuzul (de data aceasta doar 10 min, phew). Mergând pe jos apoi, nu am realizat însă am ajuns într-un golf incredibil, Marina di Praia, unde am mai făcut o baie. Am revenit în Meta pentru ultima seară.
EN: We spent the rest of the time at the beach and then we took the bus to Praiano ( only 10 minutes this time, phew :). We faced such an incredible bay, Marina di Praia, a great place to swim. We came back to Meta for the last evening.
A patra zi…
EN: The fourth day…
Când am planificat călătoria ne-am gândit că pe parcursul a opt zile ar fi ok să ne luăm cazare în trei locuri diferite.
EN: When we planned the trip, we took into account to check in three different places in eight days, to experience more.
Astfel, următoarea oprire a fost în Minori după ceva ore cu autobuzul și trenul. Din păcate, nu ne-am planificat prea bine legăturile cu autobuzul, așa că dacă porniți în aventura de pe coasta amalfitană și vreți să vizitați cât mai multe orașe, interesați-vă de orarul acestora. În perioadele de vacanță, acestea sunt full, traficul este infernal, nu ajung în stații la timp sau mai rău, cum a fost cazul nostru, nu mai opresc în stații.
EN: So, the next stop was Minori after a few hours by bus and train. Unfortunately, we did not plan the transport connections well enough, so if you travel here and visit more cities, get yourself informed about the timetable before. During holiday times, the buses are full, the traffic is so congested and the buses don’t arrive on time or even worse, in our case, they don’t even stop at the bus station.
În sfârșit, Minori este little Positano, un orășel cu farmec aparte în care respiri, te bucuri liniștit de străduțele înguste, nu e ticsit de turiști precum Positano
EN: Anyway, Minori is little Positano, a charming city which makes you feel like a local, not so commercial !
Cazarea de aici a fost MINUNATĂ. Am rezervat tot prin Airbnb o căsuță mansardată cu o terasă de pe care vedeam apusul care se lăsa peste blocul de căsuțe colorate din Minori, iar de partea cealaltă minunatul sat Ravello de pe stânci. Proprietarul, signore Flavio ne-a întâmpinat în stația de autobuz și ne-a condus către micuțul apartament de 25 mp care este super central și la doar 150m de plajă. Decorul este mediteraneean.
Tot Flavio ne-a rezervat și barca pentru Capri de a doua zi cu discount 🙂
EN: Our home was AMAZING! We found the place via Airbnb, a little house with an attic and a terrace that offered us the most beautiful view: the sunset over the little houses mountain of Minori and on the other side, the wonderful Ravello village. The owner of the house, signore Flavio greeted us at the bus stop and we walked together to the little apartment of 25 mp which was situated at 150m to the beach in a central area. The overall design of the flat was Mediterranean.
Signore Flavio was so nice and he also booked us the boat to Capri at a discount 🙂
Ne-am petrecut după-amiaza la plajă, iar seara am găsit pe Triposo un restaurant local foarte bun – Locanda del Pescatore. Locul este la stradă, într-o zonă liniștită, era tot ce aveam nevoie după atâtea ore cu autobuzul și trenul. As a real italian, am servit și o cafea scurtă după masă – king prawns într-un sos delicios.
EN: We spent the afternoon at the beach and in the evening we found a very nice local restaurant on Triposo – Locanda del Pescatore . The place is on a quiet street. It was all we needed after so many hours spent in traffic. As a real Italian, we enjoyed an espresso after the dinner – king prawns in a very delicious sauce!
